Bangladeshi stars don’t want their daughters to become actress: Moushumi

In many film industries like Hollywood and Bollywood, children of popular actors often appear in movies. However, in Bangladesh's Dhallywood, this is not the case. Despite the fame of stars like Shabana, Babita, Kabori, Jasim, Farooq, and Alamgir, their children did not follow in their footsteps. Even beloved actress Moushumi’s children have not appeared on the silver screen. Moushumi expressed her regret about this in a video interview.

Moushumi said, "There is no obstacle for boys, but artists do not want girls to become heroines. If sons want to act in movies, they can. But if daughters want to be heroines, everyone disagrees."

She mentioned Akhi Alamgir, the daughter of actor Alamgir, who caught attention in the movie "Bhat De". Although Akhi became a singer, she did not continue acting. Moushumi said, "Akhi Alamgir was very promising, but her father did not allow her to act. She looked very sweet. Many new faces were coming at that time, but Akhi was not given a chance. We would have had a very good heroine in her."

Moushumi also mentioned Champa’s daughter, who is very cute, but Champa never encouraged her to become an actress. She said many artists have daughters who are interested in acting but are not allowed to enter the cinema.

Moushumi praised Doyle for supporting her daughter, Dighi. Doyle told Moushumi, "I want to make Dighi a heroine. Despite getting so much support, I could not hold my place. I want to see Dighi succeed."

Moushumi believes that with proper support and planning, good results can come from allowing daughters to act.
