Bangladesh women forced to share points

Shamsunnahar Jr scored an injury time goal as Bangladesh survived a scare after making draw in the SAFF Women's Football Champions League.

Held at the Dasharath Stadium, Kathmudo on Sunday, the definding champions Banladesh Women onset with a hugely impressive way when they went attacking approach right from the first whistle of the match for three points against the spirited opponents Pakistan.

But unfortunately conceded a goal in the 23rd minute when a Pakistan forward Zahmena Malik put Pakistan ahead in the first half from a counter attack, just capitalising a defence lapse and beat Bangladesh keeper Rupna Chakma.

After conceding the Bangladesh played almost one-sided game with keeping the opponents under tremendous pressure. But despite going closer fro several times could not mark the target for once in the stipulated 90 minutes time. 

Finally Shamsunnahar Jr converted the equalizer in the first minute of the injury period.  

Shamsunnahar Jr beat Pakistan keeper, who denied number of chances of Bangladesh. Shamsunnar, who rushed into the box, netted a Rituporna Chakma's cross from close range to level the margin one minute into the added time. Zahmena Malik put Pakistan ahead in the first half from a counter attack. 

After the draw match against Pakistan, Bangladesh will need a draw against India to move into final. If Bangladesh will suffer defeat, an option will be left for them to manage the final spot, in this respect they would concede less than three goals. Pakistan lost their first match against India by 5-2.   

Bangladesh will face India in their second and last group match Wednesday.
