Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said, “Bangladesh will be economically the largest country in Asia by 2030. None will remain poor in the country.”

She expressed her firm confidence in the inaugural ceremony of the seminar on ‘Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Financial Regulator Training Initiatives’ organised in the Pan pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Monday morning.

“We are going to make 100 economic zones in the country. Foreigners will have opportunities to invest in these industrial economic zones. After the completion of 100 economic zones, there will be employments for more than one crore of people. As a result, export of commodities will increase too” Sheikh Hasina further said to the seminar.

Prime Minister said, “GDP will reach two digits in 2023-2024. The government is working in order to reduce the rate of poverty, and to raise the per capita income. The per capita income will exceed 2000 dollars. Our government is working relentlessly to eradicate poverty and to develop economy.

She also said, “Bangladesh Awami League is the institution of the people of the country. The country has turned into a digital Bangladesh. Even the rural people are buying things on online.

“Bangladesh has met all the requirements to be a developing country from the least developed country. The country has achieved self-sufficiency in food. Foreign investments have increased in the country, and the regional disparity has dwindled.” She added.
