Bangladesh team advance semis at Children of Asia Games in Russia

The 8th Children of Asia 2024 (Yakutia 2024) International Sports Games are currently taking place in the Sakha Republic (Yakutsk), Russia.

This prestigious event features 2,700 athletes from 24 countries, including Bangladesh, competing in 24 sports disciplines, one of which is Mas-Wrestling.

Md Al Mamun, founder and General Secretary of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association, Country Representative of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation in Russia and Vice President World Togyzqumalaq Federation, Kazakhstan are also attending.

Zarif Ferdous in the Mas-Wrestling 80+ kg category and Sanwar Khondkar Junaid in the 70 kg category have successfully advanced to the semifinals, said a media release on Saturday.

The Games were inaugurated with a grand ceremony on June 26, attended by the head of the Sakha Republic and ministers from various Asian countries, including Russia's Minister of Sports.

The competition will continue until July 6, with the closing ceremony scheduled for July 7.

This significant international multi-sport event for young athletes is organized by 

the Children of Asia International Committee in cooperation 

with the Government of Russia, the Russian Olympic Committee, and the Sakha Republic (Yakutsk).
