Bangladesh U-20 national football team head coach Maruful Haque is looking forward to overcome the teething pains of lossing the second mathc of group stage against Nepal when they will take on India today in the semifnal of the SAFF U-20 championsip today at ANFA Complex.
It would be a tough battle for the marul’s boys to find their rhythm against the dfedning champion India in a cagey match that was something unfortunate for his side conceding an unsual goal and missing plenty of scoring chances.
Maruful Haque, who is confident with the capability of his boys, expected that they would be able to bounce back against India.
Maruful, after their practice session on Saturday said, “Before departing Dhaka for Katmandu, we told that our target to become champions. We failed to become group champions losing the last match against Nepal. I believe the boys will overcome the last match episode and they will bounce back against India to go to the final,” said Maruful.
“After losing to Nepal, we were almost confirmed that we would have to play the semifinal against India and it happened, we will play
the semifinal against Nepal on Monday.
As we came here in Nepal with a challenge, I think after suffering the defeat against Nepal, I have seen the boys’ concentrations, efforts and the eagerness to win the match, if they could translate it in the game, hope we will be able to defeat India and will play the final,” said Maruf on Sunday.
Captain Mehedi Hasan Srabon was also optimistic to win the match against India, as he said, “We had three days before the semifinal match, we had two practice sessions and a rest day. If we could follow the coach’s technique, I think we will be able to leave the ground with a good result.”
