Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board Director Md. Shafiqur Rahman signed a circular on Monday instructing officers and employees of various Rural Electrification Associations to exhibit more responsible behaviour.
The circular addresses concerns over recent strikes, demands, and banner protests by some officers and employees, disrupting rural electrification activities and customer service. It emphasises that such actions tarnish the government's image and constitute anti-disciplinary behaviour.
A meeting is scheduled for July 5 to discuss the current situation with officers and employees of rural electricity societies. The circular stresses the board's support for legitimate demands but urges all personnel to ensure uninterrupted electricity service and avoid any destabilising or criminal activities.
The Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board encourages officers and employees to contribute positively to government development efforts through their conduct and service delivery.
