Poland has provided 3.2 million (AZ) vaccines to Bangladesh as a gesture of solidarity to the friendly country's fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
The Polish gesture covers a consignment containing 3,272, 880 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as well as their transport to Dhaka through their own arrangement, said a foreign ministry press release on Wednesday.
The consignment is being sent in three batches while the first batch numbering 1027,290 doses of vaccines arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The second consignment totaling 920,790 doses jabs will arrive on November 11 and the third one 1324,800 doses of vaccine on November 14, said the release.

Poland Ambassador to Dhaka (resident in New Delhi) Prof Adam Burakowski today handed over the token vaccine doses to Senior Secretary of Health Services Division Lokman Hussain Mia and acting Foreign Secretary Rear Admiral (Retd) Md. Khurshed Alam at Padma State Guest House in the capital today.
The Polish envoy stated that the donation of COVID vaccines is as a gesture of friendship to Bangladesh.
He expressed hope that both the countries would soon be able to overcome the pandemic through shared efforts.
The acting Foreign Secretary thanked the Government of Poland for standing beside Bangladesh and mentioned that the friendly gesture would further strengthen the existing bilateral relationship between the friendly countries.
