PKSF organised a workshop where Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary, praised Bangladesh for its innovative role in global efforts to reduce poverty.
Addressing the 'National Workshop on PPEPP-EU Project' in Dhaka, he highlighted significant reductions in poverty rates over the past decade and a half, attributing success to government initiatives and support from development partners.
The workshop, focused on the 'Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People—European Union (PPEPP-EU)' project, emphasised sustainable strategies to eradicate extreme poverty.
Charles Whiteley, EU Ambassador & Head of Delegation to Bangladesh, emphasised the project's role in addressing challenges like disability and salinity in remote areas.
Dr. M. Khairul Hossain, Chairman of PKSF, highlighted the project's positive impact and stressed the need for continued efforts to achieve lasting results. The event featured participant testimonials and a panel discussion highlighting project components and achievements since 2022.
In the workshop, members from different parts of the country shared their experiences of benefiting from the assistance received from the project. Besides, a panel discussion on various components of the PPEPP-EU project under implementation since 2022 was held and a short documentary on the project was screened.
