A rally and discussion meeting was organized by Mymensingh Range Police on the occasion of International Peacekeepers Day-2022. DIG (Acting) promoted Md Shah Abid Hossain officially inaugurated the rally in front of the Range Office on Sunday morning. Commander of 77 Infantry Brigade Mymensingh Cantonment Brigadier General Md Mahbubur Rahman, Superintendent of Police of Mymensingh Mohammad Ahmar Uzzaman, Superintendent of Police of Range Office Harun Aur Rashid, Superintendent of Police of Netrokona Akbar Ali Munshi, Superintendent of Police of Jamalpur Nasir Uddin and others were present. The rally ends at the town hall with a tour of various streets of the city.
Later a discussion meeting was held at the town hall. Range DIG Mohammad Shah Abid Hossain presided over the meeting. Commander of 77 Infantry Brigade Mymensingh Cantonment Brigadier General Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Taslima Mostari, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ahmar Uzzaman, District Awami League President Advocate Khokul.
The meeting was attended by members including heads of various police units including Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), CID, APBN.
In his speech, Range DIG Md Shah Abid Hossain said that the United Nations has been working since 1947 to deal with the conflict situation in the world. Bangladesh started working in the UN from 1973.
He added that Bangladesh has been cooperating to prevent violence, develop and change the plight of the people in conflict-ridden regions of the world.
The position of Bangladeshis in the UN mission is dignified and in a high position.
The DIG further said that so far 1, 62,179 members have played a significant role in 71 missions. Among them 2 thousand 281 women members. At present, 6,813 members of the UN are working to maintain and develop world peace under the auspices of the United Nations. He further said that due to the strong leadership of the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh's position in the UN has become stronger and higher.
Mymensingh Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ahmar Uzzaman said Bangladesh has taken part in the peacekeeping mission and raised the red and green flag of Bangladesh to higher ground.
We have to be more responsible in establishing peace in the country and abroad. Advocate Zahirul Haque Khoka said that law enforcement agencies have been performing their duties efficiently in this country including the UN mission. Therefore, Bangladesh has reached the developing countries today.
