Bangladesh national football team will play their second match of the ongoing AFC Asian Cup qualifying round in Malaysia with taking on Turkmenistan on Saturday.
Bangladesh, who are the underdog in their Group E comprised with higher in FIFA rankings, have already suffered a 2-0 defeat in their opening match at the hands of Bahrain, are almost 100 ranked better than to Bangladesh.
Turkmenistan also suffered a 1-3 defeat to hosts Malaysia in their opener, so for both Bangladesh and Turkmenistan, it would something prestigious encounter to taste a win or to manage at least a point to have some solace.
However, today’s opponents Turkmenistan team are also higher in FIFA ranking with 134 when Bangladesh are on 188.
However, Bangladesh and Turkmenistan met each others for once in 2002 Asian Games and the later won the match by 1-3.
It will be second encounter between the central Asian and the South Asian country and this time also Turkmenistan are favourites.
On the other hands it would be second real challenge for Javier Fernandez Cabrera, the head coach of Bangladesh when his sides went down to Bahrain by 2-0 in the first match, the Spanish though, played two matches before today’s match when those were friendly affairs and Bangladesh could manage one draw and suffered defeat in the other match against Indonesia and Mongolia respectively.
Bangladesh national football team also are looking forward for a long to break the winning draught but it would something tough for the Cabrera men today, as Turkmenistan are not only better position in FIFA ranking but they are stronger side in all respect.
Considering the all deference, if Bangladesh could have a point against Turkmenistan, it would be a respectable result.
