Bangladesh bowling coach Rangana Herath affirmed that Chandika Hathurusingha's reappointment as the head coach of the national team will be fruitful and the Tigers will be benefitted from his service.

Hathurusingha is set to return to Bangladesh cricket after five years. Herath, who has worked and played under Hathurusingha was optimistic about his return.

"With Chandika, you know that he has been with Bangladesh cricket and he has done well in that period. For me, I have kind of experience of playing with him as well as under him when he was a coach. I have very good, positive feedback about him as well as confidence about him that Bangladesh cricket will (get) help from him," said Herath.

The coach also stated that their main target would be to beat England in the white-ball series sticking up with the process and strategy.

"Obviously, playing against any other team, we are expecting to win, that is our ultimate target. But before you win, you need to follow the process, practice, how you plan, it should be done as soon as possible," he added.

Hathurusingha served the Bangladesh team from 2014-2017 in his first tenure. After the South Africa tour in 2017, he abruptly left the country before making a brief return to Bangladesh with the Sri Lankan team as its head coach.

Bangladesh played the ODI World Cup quarterfinal in 2015, semifinal of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy under his tenure. The team beat Pakistan, India and South Africa at home in three consecutive ODI series.

The 54-year-old Lankan is expected to arrive in Bangladesh by February 20 as he is set to begin the new journey with the Tigers.
