The Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto has celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the National Day-2021. The celebration began by hoisting the National Flag at the Bangladesh House in the morning by Consul General Nayem Uddin Ahmed.
Later an elaborated programme was held at the Consulate premises. The second part of the programme consisted playing the national anthems of Bangladesh and Canada, screening theme song of Mujib Year, placing wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reading out and screening the messages of President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs, cake cutting, screening documentary on the development of Bangladesh and a cultural programme.
Consul General Nayem Uddin Ahmed in his speech highlighted the tremendous development trajectory of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He urged all to instil passion and courage from Bangabandhu’s great life and strengthen the hands of his able daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to transform Bangladesh to a developed country by 2041 to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla.
The programme ended with special prayers for the martyrs, Father of the Nation and his family members, valiant freedom fighters and continued peace and progress of Bangladesh.
