Bangladesh Coast Guard recovers body of missing Malaysian sailor

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Friday recovered body of a missing Malaysian sailor in Chattogram.

Ordinary seaman Muhammad Isa Bin Muhammad Veermohan (31) of MTT SAPANGAR went missing in Chittagong outer anchorage on 08 May at about 08:15 pm.

The sailor fell in the water while working on deck. Since 08 May, Bangladesh Coast Guard was engaged in extensive Search and Rescue Operation involving number of ships and boats to recover the missing sailor, said a press release. The search was interrupted due to rough sea conditions. After a long search, Bangladesh Coast Guard Ship ‘JOY BANGLA’ found the dead body afloat some distance away from outer anchorage at about 4:00 pm on Friday. The body of the sailor was handed over to local police.
