Bangladesh Army provides humanitarian assistance in Bandarban

Under the supervision of Bandarban fifth E-Bengal Regiment, humanitarian assistance was provided at Bandarban district Stadium. Assistance was provided to the poor, destitute and helpless people of Bandarban district, including Masjid, Madrasa and various clubs under the supervision of Bangladesh Army Bandarban Region on Thursday.

At the event, the chief guest was Region commander of Bandarban region General Ziaul Huq, Zone commander of Bandarban Zone and Captain of fifth E-Bengal Regiment Lieutenant Mahmudul Hasan, Zonal Staff Officer Captain Misbahul Islam Fuad along with other senior staff members in the area.

The programme was conducted by Captain, Zonal Staff Officer, Bandarban Zone Misbahul Islam Fuad. The chief guest at the programme called upon all to work together with the aim of maintaining harmony and development through various media and electronic media. He promised to provide all possible assistance to any ethnic group living in Chattogram, a mountainous area in Bangladesh, in case of any emergency. In the future, we will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of the living standards of the people of all ethnic groups, including the small ethnic groups in the hilly areas of Bangladesh.

At this time, the zone commander in Bandarban zone, Lieutenant Colonel Mahmudul Hasan, said that Army is always concern of building a harmonious Bandarban to a modern district as a progress partner in the current development. He called upon the rich and the poor to work together and bring happiness and peace to the hilly region. He further added that army has always been and will continue to be an assist for the needy, destitute and underprivileged people. He also called upon all parties and the administration to extend their fullest cooperation to bring peace and stability in the hilly region.

At the end of the speech, humanitarian assistance was provided to the selected people in the pre-written humanitarian assistance application. A total of 14 people, including a wheelchair for the physically challenged, seven sewing machine, a rickshaw and five vans, were provided with equipment for the event. In cash assistance, a total of 64 people were provided cash in the amount of Tk five lakh and 65 thousand. In addition, toilets were provided for Jabal E Noor Jame Mosque, renovation of Baitun Noor Jame Mosque in South Kalaghata Rajanagar, four microphones for Hajipara Jame Mosque and two pairs of tabla and a guitar for Renaissance club in Eden para. A total of 82 people were given humanitarian assistance of around Tk 10 lakhs in the programme.
