Banglabandha Land Port opens after two days

Export and import resumed after two days at Banglabandha Land Port in Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh district on Wednesday.

The activities of the land port were suspended for two days due to the recent volatile situation of the country. Banglabandha Land Port is the only land port in the country where Bangladesh imports and exports goods with three countries, including India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Since the export and import in the land port resumed again on Wednesday, stones were sent to Bangladesh from India and various exportable products were sent to Nepal from Bangladesh.

Sources from Banglabandha Land Port said the Banglabandha Land Port at Tetulia upazila was closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the recent unrest in the country. However, it resumed its operation from Wednesday morning. A total of 94 goods laden vehicles went to Bhutan and India till noon. Twenty seven trucks carrying stones entered Bangladesh from India at that time.

Abul Kalam Azad, manager of Banglabandha Land Port Limited, said the land port resumed its operation after being closed for two days due to recent situation of the country. Import and export have started. 

The situation is turning normal now.
