Bangabhaban clarifies President’s comment on Hasina’s resignation

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has urged all to refrain from destabilizing or embarrassing the interim government centering a media publicity by quoting him regarding the resignation issue of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

The publicity that is being carried out in several media quoting President Mohammed Shahabuddin centering  the resignation issue of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has created widespread confusion in the public mind, said a statement issued by the Bangabhaban Press Wing on Monday evening.

“This is a clear statement from His Excellency the President, all the answers regarding the resignation and departure of the Prime Minister in the face of the students-people mass revolution, the dissolution of the Parliament and all the questionsraised in the public mind about the Constitutional validity about the incumbent Interim Government are reflected in the order of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in Special Reference No-01/2024, dated August 8, 2024 (this is enclosed here with the report),” the statement said.

According to the Article 106 of the Constitution, the Appellate Division gave this opinion responding to   the Honorable President’s desire on August 8, 2024, it is mentioned.
