The Bangladesh Association of AdFilm and Content Producers (BAAcP) has announced an indefinite strike starting from September 1, against advertising agencies and clients working with production companies. The decision comes after several rounds of negotiations failed to resolve key issues that have long troubled the industry.

The main concerns highlighted by BAAcP include the settlement of previous dues, timely issuance of work orders, and a demand for 75% advance payment, with the remaining 25% to be paid within 45 days of billing. The association stressed the importance of these reforms, especially as Bangladesh undergoes widespread changes.

"This is the high time to reform our industry," said a BAAcP spokesperson, urging all members to stand united during this strike to secure essential rights.

BAAcP’s strike is receiving broad support from other industry associations, including the Advertising & Filmmakers Association (ADFA), Bangladesh Alliance of Cinematographers (BAC), Post Productions Association of Bangladesh (PAB), and the Art Directors & Costume Designers Association of Bangladesh. Additional support has also come from groups representing makeup artists, production managers, light technicians, camera operators, casting directors, and set builders.

BAAcP’s call for solidarity extends to all members, urging them to remain steadfast in their efforts to bring about change. The association emphasized that the strike will continue until their demands are met.

The ongoing strike is expected to disrupt advertising production across the country, putting pressure on agencies and clients to address the concerns raised by BAAcP and its allies. The association remains hopeful that the industry will

soon witness the much-needed reforms, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
