Awareness training on child marriage prevention, dowry prevention and stopping violence against women has been held in Rowmari Upazila of Kurigram. The five-day training was inaugurated at 10 am on Tuesday at the Upazila Officers Club and Upazila Parishad Conference Room with the support of Upazila Management and Development Project, Local Government Department and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and implementation of Upazila Standing Committee on Women and Children. The training workshop was attended by government officials, union council chairmen, members, judges, local dignitaries, teachers, students and journalists. In the training programme, ideas about the advantages and disadvantages of child marriage, awareness in prevention of dowry and law on violence against women were discussed in detail. On the other hand, at the same time, the implementing agency imparted training on Motor Vehicle Ordinance 2018 to prevent road accidents in the room of Upazila Parishad Hall. Also present on the occasion were Upazila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Abdullah, Upazila Executive Officer Al Imran, Women Vice Chairman Mahmuda Akhtar Smriti, Vice Chairman Mozaffar Hossain and Women's Affairs Officer Nazmin Nahar.
