A battery-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Mahmudabad area under Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Tuesday.co
The deceased was identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sabuj Miah, 25, son of Masto Miah of Bir Shrestha Motiur Rahman village of Muchapur Union in the upazila.
According to the police and eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a covered van driver lost control over steering and rammed the battery-run auto-rickshaw standing on the left side of the road around 6:45am, leaving auto-rickshaw driver dead on the spot and three passengers seriously injured.
The injured were taken to Bhairav Hospital, said inspector of Bhairav Highway Police Station Saju Miah.
Police seized the two vehicles from the spot.
