The ninth edition of the ICC T-20 Women World Cup 2024 will be held in Bangladesh in September.
The reigning Champions Australia women’s team will tour to Bangladesh before the World Cup.
The Aussie women will play an ODI and T20 series against the hosts Bangladesh women, the national selector for the Asutralian women cricket Shawn Fledger thinks it would be an opportunity to have idea about the playing surfaces and the condition in Bangladesh ahead of the World Cup.
The Australian women cricket team travelled to Bangladesh for once when they played the T-20 World Cup 2014 when they defeated England in the final to lift the title.
Four members of the 2024 champions’ side, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney and Jess Jonassen are in the current setup.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Joty termed the forthcoming series against the world champions as a great opportunity for the Tigresses to test their mettle.
