The Australia cricketers returned to their country after playing the last match of the five-match T20 series against Bangladesh on Monday. After the fifth match on Monday, they returned to the hotel immediately and from there the team departed for airport to catch the plane.

The Aussies left Bangladesh for Australia on a chartered flight at 1 am local time after resting in the hotel for a few hours.

The plane already reached Dhaka on Monday. The visitors lost the first three matches of the series and lost the series. However, they have breathed a sigh of relief after winning the fourth match.

This was Australia’s first international tour to Bangladesh since September 2017 where they played a couple of Test matches in the country.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan also left for United States to meet his family after playing the last T20. He was also scheduled to fly to USA on Monday night.

The Tigers will rest for a few days after the Australian series and will be ready to play the series against New Zealand again. Bangladesh is currently experiencing a fresh Covid-19 wave, and the country has been in a strict lockdown. There were 258 deaths and 14,925 new cases the day before Australia's arrival in Dhaka. Therefore, credit goes to BCB for pulling off the series without any incident, It is also important for the BCB's home season ahead, given New Zealand are expected to arrive in August 24 to play five T20Is before England travel for three T20Is and the same number of ODIs.
