More than 150 Rohingyas have gathered at the Myanmar side of Cox's Bazar-Myanmar border in Cox's Bazar's Ukhia-Teknaf area.
The Rohingyas have gathered inside Myanmar on the Anjumanpara border point of Palangkhali in Ukhia and on the outskirts of Hoaikyang border in Teknaf on Thursday night.
Locals said the Rohingyas are trying to enter into Bangladesh for treatment after being infected with the coronavirus. In this news, locals have been asked to stay alert in the area through miking from mosques. Local representatives are guarding the border with people. BGB members are also alert in the border area.
Sultan Ahmed, a UP member of Palangkhali Anjumanpara in Ukhia, said they were notified by a government agency in charge at the border in the night that some Rohingyas are trying to cross the border. On such several mosques in the locality announced warning to make the residents aware. There are reports that a Rohingya terrorist group led by Rohingya terrorist Nabi Hossain, is trying to bring these Rohingyas to Bangladesh.
Cox's Bazar BGB 34 Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Ali Haider Azad Ahmed said, "I have heard that some Rohingyas are waiting to enter Bangladesh through the border. BGB members have been kept alert at the border. No illegal intrusion will be allowed. BGB members are always careful so that no Rohingyas can enter Bangladesh”.
