Authorities claimed that a vested quarter tried to break the newly constructed iron gate at the main entrance of Baro Auliya Mazar and Kamil Mosque in Munshiganj. The incident took place in the Kewar area of Mahakali Union in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila on October 15.
Md Anwar Hossain, an executive member of the management committee of Baro Auliya Mazar and Kamil Mosque, filed a general diary with Munshiganj Sadar Police Station on October 29, citing the expenditure of Tk 30,000 for the iron gate and the details of the incident.
However, the management committee of Mazar and Kamil Mosque and devotees have expressed regret as no information has been revealed about the incident so far.
In this regard, Md Azim, General Secretary of Baro Auliya Mazar and Kamil Mosque Management Committee, said that the mazar is a sacred place of the district. It is also well known as a place of pilgrimage.
