Attacks on minorities protested

A large-scale protest erupted on Monday afternoon at Shahbag in the capital in response to recent attacks on Hindu communities, their homes and temples across the country.

Beginning at around 3:00 pm, demonstrators formed a human chain in front of the National Museum before moving to the Shahbag intersection at approximately 4:30 pm, where they halted traffic and intensified their rally.

The protestors, numbering in the hundreds, are voicing their outrage over widespread vandalism, arson, looting, and assaults on Hindu temples and homes across the country. Their demonstrations follow a period of political upheaval, including the fall of the Awami League government and a student-led uprising.

Chanting slogans such as "Tumi Ke Ami Ke, Bangali Bangali," "Jegeche Re Jegeche, Hindu Jegeche," and "Justice Justice, We Want Justice," the crowd demands accountability and action. The disruption at Shahbag intersection highlights the community's frustration and calls for immediate responses to the violence against minority groups.
