Rivals in remote village in Jhenaidah have attacked and vandalized a number of houses and beaten up two when victims filed a complaint against their rivals.
The mass attack went on Friday night at village Dhanharia about three kilometres from the Jhenaidah district town.
Injured two were rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital for treatment, said the villagers.
Locals said there was a longstanding conflict between Motleb Khan and Mahim Khan of the village for a piece of land.
A case was running with a Jhenaidah court following the land. Mahiddin Khan, his associate Tuhin and others swooped on Motleb Khaa’s son Dulu and another young man when they stepped on the land. They were rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital for treatment.

Then a complaint was lodged from the family members with local police station.
Theysaid it disheartened Mahim Khan and he along with associates had swooped on the houses of Abu Bakar Khan, Murad Ali Khan and Badsha Khan and started vandalizing.
In the other hand, Mahim Khan’s brother Khairul Islam said Motleb Khan’s supporters had threw brick bats targeting their houses. It was just a protest against their attack.
Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge, Sheikh Sohel Rana when contacted said he sent police personnel in the village and the situation was normal.
If anyone files any complaint with the police, they will go for legal steps, officer in charge said.
