A press conference was held in protest against attack on the activists of Independent Chairman Candidate Ablzalur Rahman Dhiru of Uthuly Union Parishad election under Jibannagar Upazila of Chudanga district. The conference was arranged at Chuadanga Press Club on March 11. Independent Chairman Candidate Abzalur Rahman Dhiru said at the press conference, some out sider of the Uthuly Union rushed at the Mollahpara of the village and attacked on the his activists, as a result one Akash Ali, son of Araj Ali of the village was injured with sharp weapons on March 10 at about 9 pm. The injured was taken to Hospital for treatment. An application has been submitted to Jibannagar Police station in the connection.
Activists Ahad Ali, Abdur Razzak and injured Akash were present at the press conference and spoke before journalists.
Independent Chairman Candidate Dhura demanded at the press conference for exemplary punishment of the attackers and urged upon the concerned authorities to maintain law and order, and to arrange good situation for campaigning in favor of the vote of the union.
