Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Honorary Professor of Dhaka University (DU) Development Studies Department Dr Atiur Rahman has been appointed as ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ of the university. Dhaka University Syndicate at a meeting held on October 30, 2019 with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair gave him this appointment. Earlier, a high-level Selection Board recommended him for this prestigious post.
Professor Dr Atiur Rahman will discharge his duties for a period of one year as ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ which was established at DU History Department.
