Asif Mahmud, the spokesperson for the anti-discrimination student movement and newly appointed advisor to the interim government, has issued a strong warning against personal lobbying.

Following his oath of office on the night of Thursday, Asif took to Facebook to caution individuals against seeking personal favours or attempting to leverage relationships for gain.

In his Facebook post, Asif emphasised, “Lobbying in the hope of personal gain may ruin your relationship with me.” He urged anyone with suggestions about the country's formation to communicate them directly without attempting to influence them through personal connections.

Earlier, Asif had expressed his commitment to his new role with a separate Facebook status, stating, “I will try my best to fulfil the responsibility that I got in exchange for the blood of martyrs with honesty and devotion. Participating in the interim government is the fulfilment of the promise made during the student-citizen uprising.”

Asif’s remarks highlight his dedication to maintaining integrity and transparency in his new position, underscoring a zero-tolerance stance towards favouritism and lobbying. His statements reflect a firm commitment to the principles of fairness and dedication to public service.
