Popular singer Asif Akbar has been granted bail in a defamation suit filed by popular singer Nancy. On Sunday (February 14th) around 12 noon Mymensingh Additional Chief Judicial Court Judge Abdul Hai granted bail of Asif. At the same time, he was ordered to appear in court on April 8.
Defendant's lawyer Rezaul Kabir Anar confirmed the matter. He told the media that when singer Asif Akbar appeared in the wise court, the judge ordered his bail with special consideration.
Earlier, on July 10 last year, Nancy had lodged a complaint with the Kotwali Model Police Station in Mymensingh for taking legal action. After investigating the order, the police filed a prosecution in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court of Mymensingh.
Later on, Mymensingh Additional Chief Judicial Court Judge Abdul Hai ordered him to appear in court on February 14. Nancy mentions in GD, ‘Defendant Asif Akbar has been publishing defamatory, false and misleading information against me on various YouTube, radio and TV channels at different times with a violent attitude towards the success of my voice.
Besides, Asif Akbar sold the rights to 12 songs I sang without permission. When I claimed the rights to my 12 songs, I got angry with the defendant. Defendant Asif Akbar started making obscene remarks against me on different dates and times on various YouTube and TV channels with misleading information. He lied against me.”
