ASA, a leading NGO, arranged a conference and workshop at District Shilpakala Academy in Sherpur on Monday aiming to provide help to poor children and reduce drop-out rate in primary schools.
Additional district magistrate Nomita Dey spoke at the event as the chief guest with joint assistant director of ASA’s head office Gias Uddin in the chair. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Sherpur Firoz Al Mamun, assistant district primary education officer Nur Alam Mridha and upazila primary education officer Akram Hossain also spoke on the occasion, among others. The speakers said that alongside the government, ASA and some other NGOs are playing vital role in bringing back the drop-out students to the education.
