A human chain was formed in Chapainawabganj to protest the brutal killing of a van driver by burnt.
A human chain was formed under the banner of local residents in Chak Baharam area of Ranihati Union of Sadar Upazila on Monday.
The speakers in the human chain said that Tofazzal Hossain of Chak Bahram village was a poor innocent daily laborer and van driver.
The sole earner of the family, this man used to fertilize grass and vegetables. He had no enmity with anyone in the area. But on February 29 of this month, Thursday night, he went missing when the miscreants called him on his mobile phone for the purpose of renting a van. Later, after many searches, the police recovered the burnt body of the van driver Tofajjal between Dam No. 3 and 4 on Friday, March 1. The residents of the area protested and condemned the incident and demanded a fair investigation and justice.
Bangladesh Awami League No. 6 Ranihati Union Branch Joint General Secretary Md. Anwar Parvez, Maulana Md. Habibur Rahman, teacher Abdur Rahim, local residents Abul Khair, Salim Reza and Bulbul Ali along with the family members of deceased Tofazzal Hossain were present.
