Army distributes relief among poor in Cox’s Bazar

The outbreak of corona virus in Bangladesh is increasing constantly. Which has already turned into a global pandemic. The Prime Minister has declared Corona as a war for the nation.

The Chief of Army Staff was instructed to engage every member of the army and to continue his efforts to win this war against this virus.
Army members of the 10th Infantry Division have been deployed since March 24 to assist the civilian administration in preventing the corona virus in to the four Upazila of Cox's Bazar district andChittagong district. Cox's Bazar district was declared locked down on April 7.

Since the lockdown military activity has increased manifold. Troops are setting up temporary checkpoints at the entrance of the district and conducting their activities. Following this, the Bangladesh Army has set up a specialized booth at the entrance of Chakaria Upazila to disinfect vehicles transporting emergency items in or out of the district.

GOC Major General Md Moin Ullah Chowdhury inspected the activities of thebooth of the GOC 4 Infantry division on Tuesday. Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Kamal Hossain, Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain and other senior military and civilian officials were also present there.

The GOC also distributed inspection of military personnel in various places of Cox's Bazar and Chittagong district and distributed relief materials among the helpless people. During the visit, he praised the military for its relentless work in the countryside and gave special instructions to the traveling army personnel to reassure the people and to stand beside the people in distress.

A portion of the rationed material for army officers and members was saved and distributed among the poor, unemployed people. Foods include rice, pulses, oil, potatoes, onions and flour. This is the army's effort to alleviate the crisis of house arrests in the lockdown situation. The poor and hungry people were helpless with the relief of being relieved by the relief of food.
