Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed left Dhaka on Monday for the United States on an official visit to attend The Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium and Exposition - 2024.
General Shafiuddin went to United States at the invitation of General (retd) Robert B Brown, President and CEO of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).
During his visit, he will participate in The Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium and Exposition-2024 to be held in Hawaii from May 14-16.
This symposium aims to improve relations between land forces in the Indo-Pacific region, creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, developing professional relations, and strengthening the regional security system.
In addition to participating in the symposium, the Bangladesh Army chief will attend bilateral meetings with army chiefs and other senior military officers from different countries, including the army chiefs of the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Australia, to discuss various issues of mutual cooperation.
After the symposium, the army chief will return to Bangladesh on May 19, 2024.
