The Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed has provided a grant of Tk 20 lakh from personal fund for the construction of Atigram Central Jame Mosque in Manikganj.
Former bankers and social workers Lutfar Rahman Dewan and Munsur Ali Khan handed over a cheque for Tk 20 lakh to the mosque committee on behalf of the army chief at an informal ceremony at the Atigram Central Jame Mosque premises after Friday prayers. Secretary Robin Dewan received the cheque on behalf of the mosque committee.
Abu Dewan, Gani Dewan and Faruk Hossain Dewan, among others, were present at the cheque handing ceremony.
The officers and worshipers of the mosque committee present at the time expressed their gratitude to the army chief and wished him long life and good health.
