The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken the initiative to organise a big event on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The concert will be held on March 29 at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The concert was supposed to take place in March last year. Oscar-winning Indian composer and music director AR Rahman was due to take part in the concert. However, due to the outbreak of coronavirus the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had to postpone the programme.
After one year, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) took the initiative to organise the concert this month. All the preparations have already been completed. The matter was confirmed by Tanvir Ahmed Titu, head of the media department of the BCB to the media. He said, 'Mujib borsho ceremony was postponed due to corona. We are going to organise that event again. All preparations have been made on our behalf. We will be able to officially announce the matter only after the completion of some official process and AR Rahman will perform in the concert.
According to the head of the media department of the BCB Tanvir Ahmed Titu, the event was initially planned to be held on March 17. Now it has been taken in the last week of March which is March 29.
It is learnt that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already asked the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend the programme. Apart from AR Rahman the progarmme will also feature some of the top music artist of Bangladesh, who will also perform in the concert. Earlier, in 2018 AR Rahman came to Dhaka to perform to take part in a BCB celebration concert at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
