The application deadline for the 1st year graduate (honours) class admission in the cluster system of 9 agricultural universities has been extended by 6 days. The new deadline is June 5.
This decision was made during an emergency Zoom meeting of the Central Admission Committee and Technical Committee on Wednesday.
The extension was granted due to disruptions in electricity and internet services caused by Cyclone Remal.
According to the Central Admission Committee's circular, students who passed the SSC/equivalent examination in 2019, 2020, or 2021 and the HSC/equivalent examination in 2022 or 2023 from the science department, including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, are eligible to apply. Additionally, students who passed SSC/equivalent in 2022 can also apply.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 4 and an aggregate GPA of 8.5 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams, excluding the fourth subject.
The application process started on April 22 and will now continue until June 5. The admission test is scheduled for July 20, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The test will consist of 100 marks in the MCQ system, based on the HSC/equivalent exam syllabus of 2023. The application fee is set at Tk 1,200.
The total number of seats available across the 9 universities is 3,718. Bangladesh Agricultural University has the highest number of seats (1,116), while Kurigram Agricultural University, a new addition, has the least (80).
The examination will be held at 8 test centers: Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in Gazipur, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in Dhaka, Patuakhali University of Science and Technology in Patuakhali, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Chittagong, Sylhet Agricultural University in Sylhet, Khulna Agricultural University in Khulna, and Habiganj Agricultural University in Habiganj. Applicants need to select their preferred test centers in order of preference.
