If the saying ‘Manush Manusher Jonno, Jibon Jiboneri Jonno’ (People are for people, life is for life)’ is true, then life of Sabina Akter (24), a poor girl, can be saved with the help of you.
Shahina Akter now taking treatment at Al-Helal specialized Hospital at Mirpur-10 in the capital under Prof Dr Asit Baran Adhikary following a Mitral valve (a valve of the heart) replacement surgery.
Her has been admitted to the hospital for 23 days and her family spent about Tk 4,00,000 for her treatment by collecting money from others. It is no longer possible for the helpless family to bear the cost of her treatment.
Both her parents are labourers of jute mill in Jashore. Her maternal-grandfather was a freedom fighter.
They have spent the last penny they had for the treatment of their loving girl. They are collecting money by begging from person to person, but that is not enough.
So her family has asked for everyone's help. It is not possible to treat him without help from others.
In this situation, they requested the rich people of the society to stand by the helpless girl to save her life.
When asked Dr Himel Saha, assistant to Prof Dr Asit Baran Adhikary, also assistant professor of Thoracic surgery department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, told the Bangladesh Post, “We have done a successful operation of Shahina Akter. She is now fine. We will realise her after some days’ observation from the hospital.”
