In accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Organisations Act 2022, Mohammad Anwar Hossain, vice chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), has been appointed as the administrator of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
This announcement was made on Sunday, in an order signed by Mohammad Abdur Rahim Khan, additional secretary (director general of Trade Organisations) at the Ministry of Commerce.
The order states that the appointed administrator is required to conduct a fair and orderly election within 120 (one hundred twenty) days and subsequently hand over responsibilities to the newly elected committee, while informing the Ministry.
