Anti-narcotics drive 19 held in capital

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in separate drives in the last 24 hours till 6 am Saturday, arrested 19 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

At that time, they seized 3,550 pieces of Yaba tablets, 45gm of heroin, 41.69kg of hemp, and 35 bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions, said the statement. 

According to the statement, 12 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
