Police in the capital arrested 42 individuals for selling and using drugs across various areas, reports the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Over a 24-hour period until 6 am on Wednesday, arrests were made and drugs seized during raids conducted throughout the capital.
DMP sources reveal that in addition to the arrests, authorities confiscated 891 yaba tablets, 239 grammes of heroin, 93.6 kilogrammes of marijuana, 120 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup, and 50 narcotic injections from the suspects.
The arrested individuals face charges under the Narcotics Control Act, with 26 cases registered against them in their respective police stations.
