A day-long anti-drug and anti-militancy campaign cum motivational workshop was arranged for students of Government Jasmuddin Kazi Abdul Gani College in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat on Sunday.
Alokita Bangladesh Foundation, a social organisation, with assistance of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 organised the event at the hall room of the college.
Principal (Acting) of Patgram Government JasmuddinKazi Abdul Gani College Md Habibur Rahman presided over the event participated by students of different years of the reputed educational institution.
Commanding Officer of RAB-13 Commander Reza AhmmedFerdous attended the event as the chief guest and discussed anti-drug and anti-militancy issues and delivered a motivational speech in the workshop.
“The government and the RAB are committed to eradicating drugs and militancy from the society,” Ferdous said, adding that the 'Alokita Bangladesh Foundation, is playing an admirable role to this end.
He called upon the students and young generations to stay away from all kinds of drugs.
At the end of the workshop, Commander Reza Ahmmed answered various drug and militancy related questions asked by the students.
Executive Director of 'Alokita Bangladesh Foundation' Engineer ATM Iftekhar Hossain Masud and Secretary of the Teachers' Council of Patgram Jasmuddin Kazi Abdul Gani and Emran Ahmed were present as special guests.
Lecturers of the Department of History and Culture of Islam, Atiqur Rahman and Tahijar Rahman of the Department of Bengali also spoke on the occasion.
