Anti-Corruption Day observed in Ctg

International Anti-Corruption Day was observed in Chattogram through the rallies and discussion on Saturday. 

Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Md. Tofail Islam addressed the discussion as the Chief Guest held at district Shilpakala Academy auditorium organized by the district administration and Chattogram Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) on Saturday morning. 

Speaking on the occasion   Md. Tofail Islam said that corruption hinders the development of a society.  This corruption should be curbed to give a proper environment to the children of tomorrow.  

“Smart Bangladesh is built on four key pillars: Smart Citizen, Smart Government, Smart Society, and Smart Economy. We have to work keeping them in mind. Only then it will be possible to build a happy, prosperous and corruption-free smart Bangladesh”. He added.

Director of Anti-Corruption Commission Divisional Office Md. Mahmud Hasan presided over the meeting while Police Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy, DIG NureAlam Mina, Deputy Commissioner AbulBasar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman, Superintendent of Police S.M. Shafiullah, Metropolitan Anti-Corruption Committee President Manowara Hakeem Ali among others, addressed the meeting as special guests.

Government officials and employees, journalists of print and electronic media and students were also present.

The United Nations declared this day as the International Anti-Corruption Day in 2003.  This is the 21st International Anti-Corruption Day.  This year's theme is development, peace and security.
