The concluding parade of ‘General Ansar Basic Training (Men) 4th Phase’ of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force was held today, Sunday at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, Safipur, Gazipur.
Maj Gen. Mizanur Rahman Shamim, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, BP, OSP, NDC, PSC received salutations as the chief guest at the concluding parade.
Additional Director General of the Army Brigadier General Khandaker Farid Hasan BGBM, PBGM (Bar), NDC were present as special guests. Also present were Commandant Additional Director General of Ansar and VDP Academy Md. Shamsul Alam, Deputy Director General (Administration) Col. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, PSC, Deputy Director General (Operations) AKM Ziaul Alam and other senior officers and staff of the force.
The parade started at 08:50 am with the entry of BHM at Iyad Ali Parade Ground. Parade contingents, parade adjutants, company commanders, parade commanders, battalion commanders and flag-carrying contingents entered the field one by one. After the Commandant of the Academy and the special guest, the chief guest arrived at the west end of the field in the security perimeter of the cavalry. He visited each contingent in a well-equipped open green jeep wrapped in red carpet with Md. Ammar Hossain, Commandant of the Academy and Deputy Director of Parade Commander. Later, the parade marched in 6 (six) rows and greeted the chief guest.
The trainees raised their hands towards their respective scriptures and took an oath to dedicate their lives in the service of the country and the people of the country by adhering to the Constitution of Bangladesh. The chief guest handed over the prizes to the best trainees. Out of a total of 1,091 trainees, Malay Bala won the award for excellence in drill, Akram Hossain won the award for firing and Hamilin Chakma won the award for clever trainee.
At the end of the training, the general Ansars joined various important public and private organizations such as airport, seaport, Rooppur nuclear power plant, Matarbari power plant, Karnafuli tunnel, Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Metrorail, Padma Multipurpose Bridge, hotel, motel, EPZ. Observed.
At present, about 54,000 general Ansars have been incorporated in more than four and a half thousand organizations across the country and are contributing to the public security of the country. General Ansar members in all local government elections including Jatiya Sangsad elections, various religious festivals, Eid, Durga Puja, Bishwa Ijtema, New Year, shopping malls, trade fairs and book fairs, railway stations, traffic control, Kovid-19 specialized hospitals, etc. Responsible for maintaining public safety and law and order.
