Another EC staff, who provided counterfeit NID to Rohingya people, was placed on four-day remand on Tuesday. He is Mohammad Nazim Uddin, an office assistant of Chattogram EC office.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mehnaz Rahman passed the order. Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested one more employee of the EC in a case filed over the providing of NID cards to Rohingyas yesterday, said CTU Inspector Rajesh Barua.
The investigating officer Rajesh Barua prayed for seven-day remand while the court granted four-day remand.
Earlier, EC officer assistant Joynal Abedin and Faruk disclosed his name in their confessional statement before the metropolitan magistrate. A total of 11 persons including four EC employees were arrested in connection with NID cards to Rohingyas.
