The annual sports festival and prize-giving ceremony of Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt Anwar Girls’ College (SAGC) were held at the college ground in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday.
Maj Gen Sheikh Mohammad Sarwar Hossain, GOC and Area Commander of Logistics Area in Dhaka Cantonment distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
The chairman as well as the principal of SAGC escorted and welcomed the Chief Guest. The programme was followed by March Past by the various departments of the college.
In his speech, the chief guest emphasized sports and thanked everyone involved with the event.
The Special Guest Farhana Sarwar was invited to felicitate the winners of the various competitions and give away the prizes at the end.
Afterwards, there was a demonstration of various sports by the students like Aerobics, Yoga, Fencing, Skipping, Self-defense, Taekwondo, Judo, Weightlifting and Race.
On January 25, Brigadier General Md Ahsan Habib, Chairman of SAGC Governing Body, inaugurated the programme as the Chief Guest. Jebin Anwar as the special guest awarded the prizes among the winners at the end.
