The production of the film 'Ami Yeasmin Bolchi' has resumed after being temporarily halted due to interference from former Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Harun Or Rashid. Directed by Suman Dhar, the film tells the story of Yasmin Akhtar, a gang-rape victim from Dinajpur. The project faced setbacks after Harun suggested the film should not be made, citing the existence of "better" stories.

In a recent update, Suman confirmed that all preparations are underway to restart filming. He mentioned that he had been working on this project since 2017 and emphasized the importance of accurately portraying Yasmin's true story. Despite the challenges faced, he is relieved to move forward with the film. Actress Bidya Sinha Mim, who plays the lead role, expressed her happiness at the news of the film's revival. She had initially felt anxious upon receiving a call from Harun, where she was informed that the project might be canceled. Mim noted that such challenging roles are rare in an actor's career, making it even more disheartening to face the possibility of losing this opportunity.

Suman stated that pre-production is in full swing, with plans for outdoor shooting in Dinajpur and Dhaka. While he acknowledged that the current situation may delay outdoor filming, he is optimistic about starting soon. The director is now focused on getting everything in order and ensuring that the film accurately depicts Yasmin's harrowing experience.

The film is expected to highlight critical social issues while telling Yasmin's story, bringing attention to the struggles faced by victims of violence.
