American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) has submitted recommendations on Trade Facilitation Measures, Public Sector Modernization, Digital Payment Infrastructure conducive to FDI and ease of doing business to the Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Wednesday.
A nine-member AmCham delegation, led by it's President Syed Ershad Ahmed handed over the recommendation while they called on Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Advisor, Ministry of Finance and Commerce at the Secretariat. In addition to Economic Discipline, Reforming the Current Legal Framework, Cybersecurity Enhancement and Promotion of Renewable Energy & Climate-Centric Initiatives, the delegation team has also prioritized on Stabilizing Law and Order Situation, Better Traffic Management and Smooth Supply Shain Operation.The Advisor has mentioned that the Govt is resolving trade and economic challenges with utmost priority and delegating tasks to the concerned department for efficient management. He also added that recommendations will be reviewed considering the legal framework and other relevant factors.
Along with Syed Ershad Ahmed, AmCham President, Md Moinul Huq, Citi Country Officer (CCO), Citibank N.A., Bangladesh, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, MasterCard, Ala Uddin Ahmad, CEO, American Life Insurance Company (MetLife), Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager, Visa Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, Mirza Shajib Raihan, Country Leader, Becton Dickinson Bangladesh, Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, Oracle Corporation, Habib Bhuiyan, Country Manager, Excelerate Energy Bangladesh Limited and Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Secretary, AmCham Bangladesh were present in the meeting.
