All secondary and higher secondary educational institutions and polytechnic institutes across the country have been declared closed for an indefinite period.
The Ministry of Education announced this directive in a notification on Tuesday evening.
Mohammad Abul Khair, public relations officer at the Ministry of Education, confirmed the matter.
The notification stated that considering the safety of school and college-going students, all educational institutions under the Ministry of Education at the secondary and higher secondary levels, as well as polytechnic institutes, will remain closed until further notice.
A separate notification announced the postponement of HSC and equivalent examinations for all boards for next Thursday. The notification said that other examinations would be held as usual according to the previously announced schedule.
At least six people, including three students were killed as police, Chhatra League and protesters on Tuesday locked in violent clashes clashed at various parts of the country.
Among them, three people ---two students---were killed in Chattogram, two in Dhaka and a Begum Rokeya University student in Rangpur.
