Faridpur district administration has taken all out measures to combat deadly coronavirus in the district. The district administration has taken various programmes, including protective and preventive measures, in this regard.
Necessary PPEs and other related equipment were being made available to the doctors and health workers in the district. Germicides are being spared on all major roads and thoroughfares on regular basis. Meanwhile all business outlets except kitchen markets, food shops and medicine shops are closed at all parts of the district.
The district administration, police administration and municipality are working hand in hand to check infection of corona. As part of the measures taken by the district administration, food was distributed among 300 vulnerable people on Saturday. On the other hand, Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain, MP from Faridpur-3 constituency, handed over 500 PPEs for doctors and health workers. He handed over these at his residence in the district town on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar said that as part of the government’s directives, they are working relentlessly to prevent coronavirus in the district. Several precautionary measures have already been taken since outbreak of the virus in the country, he added.
The measures are: constant surveillance at all parts of the district, successful implementation of the policy of ‘stay home and be safe’, cleanliness drives, ensuring sanitation and motivational campaigns through distribution of leaflets, mikings and other ways.
Atul Sarkar said that a number of surveillance teams formed with military and civil personnel that are working in the district. Hand sanitisers and face-masks are being supplied to the people. Isolations units have been set up at hospitals in the district town and all upazilas. Earlier measures were taken for the expatriate who returned home from abroad.
The DC said that a total of 4453 expatriates have arrived from 44 countries. Of them, 2140 people have already crossed 14 days. More 218 have completed their home quarantine, so they were declared free. A total of 1048 expatriates were in home quarantine till Friday.
