Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that initiatives for ensuring houses for all employees working in the City Corporation are being taken.
The DSCC mayor said this at the house allotment and key handover ceremony of the house cleaners in Dayaganj and Dhalpur at the head office of Dhaka South City Corporation on Nagar Bhaban premises.
Sheikh Taposh said, "Dhaka South City Corporation had a dispute about house allocation earlier. It was one of the sectors of corruption. We have broken the cycle of irregularities and corruption. As a result, no one dares to commit irregularities and corruption in housing allotment. We are now allotting houses to those who are eligible, whose availability is justified.
As a result, DSCC has created a unique example of transparency in allotment of houses”.
“Many have already been allotted houses. As a result, housing of a significant portion of the employees of the Corporation has been ensured. Initiatives are being taken to ensure accommodation for all employees in phases” he said.
He added, ‘We have been evicting those occupiers after taking charge. It is an ongoing process and it will continue, Insha Allah. As long as I am there, I will not allow any illegal occupiers to stay in this corporation's housing’.
In the event, 64 cleaners were allotted houses in Dayaganj cleaners residence 'Neelapadma' and 24 cleaners in Dhalpur cleaners residences 'Shapla', 'Shaluk' and 'Palash'.
